The Ultimate Guide to Gold Coast Boat Cruises
A Gold Coast boat cruise can be a celebration, a family outing or a quiet occasion with the people closest to you. The right choice depends on your group, the time available and what you would like to do on the water.
This guide brings together the private cruise options offered by Inspiration Cruises, along with the practical details needed to plan a charter. Inspiration is a 51ft Sealine T51 motor yacht with skipper and crew, available for private groups of up to 25 guests.
Bucks party cruises
Start a bucks cruise by confirming the guest count and how costs will be shared. Decide whether the group is covering the groom’s contribution before collecting money.
Use our bucks planning checklist for food, music, entertainment and arrival details. Confirm any outside suppliers and setup requirements with us before booking them.
Hens party cruises
A hens cruise brings the bride and her friends together in a private setting. Agree on your budget, contributions and guest list before choosing extras.
Our hens organiser’s checklist covers food, music, decorations, photos and boarding. Choose a few personal touches the bride will enjoy, and leave room for conversation.
Birthday and party cruises
A private birthday cruise gives your group a place to share food, play music and spend time together. Choose a duration around your main priorities rather than trying to include every activity in one outing.
For a more general celebration, explore party cruises and our two, three and four-hour planning guide. Confirm any entertainment and setup needs before arranging external suppliers.
Sunset cruises
A sunset cruise can provide a setting for an anniversary or a relaxed evening with friends. Departure timing depends on the season and availability, and weather affects the view.
Weddings, proposals and romantic cruises
For proposals and romantic occasions, tell us about your plans in advance. Confirm any food, photography or special setup separately; decorations and styling are not included.
Discuss your preferred timing, guest numbers and any ceremony or photography plans with us before booking. Small, removable decorations are welcome, but no confetti or permanent adhesives. Large installations and outside suppliers need prior discussion.
Corporate and work cruises
For a corporate event, clarify the budget, approval process and purpose before inviting guests. A simple run sheet can leave room for food, a short speech and informal conversation. See our corporate planning guide.
Christmas party cruises
For end-of-year gatherings, explore Christmas cruises. The friends and family checklist and work Christmas guide cover different organising needs.
New Year’s Eve cruises
Check the current New Year’s Eve sessions for 31 December, including prices, start and finish times and availability. These can differ from standard hourly charters.
Discuss expected viewing plans before booking. Fireworks schedules, restrictions, weather and the skipper’s assessment affect the route; a particular display or view cannot be guaranteed.
Family cruises
A family outing can focus on scenery and time together. Include children in your guest count, discuss access needs before booking and arrange parent or guardian supervision throughout the charter.
If swimming is important to your family, ask whether a suitable stop can fit the route and conditions. Bring towels and swimwear for a possible stop, and follow the crew’s instructions.
Memorial and ash-scattering cruises
A private memorial cruise provides space for family and friends to gather. Contact us before booking to discuss the occasion, guest needs, timing and any ceremony you have in mind.
Confirm the suitability of anything you wish to bring or release, including flowers or other items, with us in advance. Do not assume candles, decorations or ceremonial materials can be used onboard.
Custom cruise enquiries
If you have a different idea, tell us what you are planning before making arrangements. Include your preferred date, guest count, duration, equipment and setup needs so we can discuss suitability and availability.
Sightseeing and river cruises
A sightseeing cruise can suit visitors exploring the Gold Coast or locals wanting a different perspective on the waterways. Discuss the Nerang River, Surfers Paradise and Broadwater options before choosing your charter length.
For route ideas and questions to ask, see our boat-tour route guide. The skipper shapes the itinerary around the time available and conditions.
Choose a route and duration that fit
Our destination guide includes Gold Coast waterway and island ideas. Wave Break Island, South Stradbroke Island and Tipplers need to be considered against your booking length and travel time.
Tell us your main priority before booking. Routes, anchoring and swim stops depend on duration, conditions and the skipper’s assessment.
Know the price and what is included
Standard charters are $690 per hour including GST and the fuel levy, with a two-hour minimum of $1,380 for the whole yacht. Three hours is $2,070 and four hours is $2,760. Skipper and crew are included; food, drinks and separately arranged extras are additional. See current prices and check special-event sessions separately.
BYO food and drinks are welcome, with no red wine onboard. We provide a large esky, ice, cups, plates, plastic champagne flutes and tumblers. Optional catering is available by arrangement. The yacht has indoor and outdoor areas, bathroom facilities, a sound system and Wi-Fi.
Boarding and booking
Board at the public pontoon at 73 Cavill Ave, Surfers Paradise QLD 4217, arriving 10 minutes early. Circle on Cavill and surrounding street parking are paid. Share our cruise information with guests before the day.
For standard advance bookings, a $500 deposit secures your date and the balance is due two weeks before departure. Check the amount due at checkout and read the Terms & Conditions before paying.
