Costs, deposits and confirmation
The key payment information before requesting or confirming a charter.
How much does a private yacht charter cost?
Private charters aboard Inspiration are $690 per hour including GST. A minimum booking duration of 2 hours applies, so a 2-hour charter costs $1,380 including GST.
Is the yacht shared with other groups?
No. Inspiration is privately reserved for your confirmed group throughout the charter.
How much is the booking deposit?
The deposit is $500 by fee-free bank transfer or $512 through Square, which includes the card fee.
When is the date and time secured?
Your requested date and time are secured once the deposit has been received and your booking confirmation has been issued.
When is the remaining balance due?
The remaining balance is due 2 weeks before the cruise. Bank transfer is fee-free. Card payment is available on request and attracts a 2.2% card fee.
What should we send after making payment?
Please send a remittance or payment screenshot. Once the payment has been marked off, we can issue your paid receipt or updated invoice and booking confirmation.
What to bring and what we provide
Inspiration is BYO-friendly, with simple onboard serving essentials already provided.
Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Yes. BYO food and drinks are welcome onboard. Please note that red wine is not permitted.
What food and drink items are provided onboard?
We provide a large esky and ice, plus cups, plates, plastic champagne flutes and tumblers.
Can we play our own music?
Yes. Guests can connect a phone to the onboard sound system and play their own music.
How do we arrange catering?
Guests choose, order and pay their caterer directly. Simone’s Amazing Grazing is one suggested option: Simone’s Amazing Grazing . Once the order is confirmed, send us the delivery details and we can help coordinate a suitable delivery time.
Can we use another catering company?
Yes. You may arrange another caterer directly. Please check the proposed delivery timing and packaging with us before finalising the order.
Can you collect a Dan Murphy’s order?
Subject to availability, we can collect a prepaid Dan Murphy’s order from the Benowa store for a $120 handling fee. The retailer order cost is separate. This service is not available on Saturdays.
Arrival, capacity and guest requirements
Arriving prepared helps the charter depart on time and keeps the yacht protected.
Where do cruises board?
Boarding is from the public pontoon at 73 Cavill Ave, Surfers Paradise QLD 4217 .
What time should we arrive?
Please arrive 10 minutes early so boarding can be completed and the cruise can depart on time.
What footwear can guests wear?
Guests must wear non-marking or white-soled shoes, or go barefoot onboard.
How many guests can Inspiration accommodate?
Inspiration can accommodate up to 25 guests. The confirmed headcount must not exceed the vessel’s maximum capacity.
Do larger groups need to provide a final headcount?
Yes. For groups of 15 or more, please provide the final headcount 48 hours before the cruise.
Are children and minors allowed onboard?
Yes. Minors are permitted when supervised by a responsible adult or guardian at all times. The crew manage vessel operations and safety and do not act as guardians.
Conditions, decorations and onboard conduct
The skipper confirms the safe and practical operation of each charter.
Can we choose the cruise route?
You can tell us the route style or destinations you prefer. The final route depends on charter duration, weather, tides, water traffic and safe operational requirements.
Can we stop for swimming?
Swimming or water access may be possible when the route, conditions and available charter time allow. It remains subject to safety requirements and the skipper’s approval.
What happens if the weather is unsuitable?
Cruises operate in normal Gold Coast conditions. Weather or water conditions may require the route to be changed. If conditions are considered unsafe, we will work with you on the best available option.
Do you provide decorations or styling?
No. Inspiration Cruises does not provide decorations or styling. We did previously have a supplier, however they no longer offer this service as they’ve moved.
Can we bring our own decorations?
Small removable items may be brought onboard when safe. Confetti and permanent adhesives are not permitted. Large installations or backdrops require advance approval.
What happens if a guest is intoxicated or behaving unsafely?
Safety and responsible service of alcohol requirements apply throughout the charter. Intoxicated guests may be refused boarding or service, and crew instructions must be followed.
