Private yacht tour on the Gold Coast canals with Inspiration Cruises, cruising past waterfront homes under a clear blue sky.

Your Gold Coast boat tour is booked: now it is time to share the meeting point and decide what to bring. This practical guide helps your group prepare for a private cruise with Inspiration Cruises.

If you are still deciding where to go, start with our boat-tour routes and duration guide. The information below is about getting ready for your booked trip.

Share the correct boarding point

Boarding is from the public pontoon at 73 Cavill Ave, Surfers Paradise QLD 4217. Ask every guest to arrive 10 minutes before the confirmed departure time.

Send the address, date and start time in the same group message. If someone is using a taxi or rideshare, make sure they have this address rather than an old marina location.

Allow time for paid parking and the walk

Paid parking is available at Circle on Cavill or on surrounding streets. Check the parking conditions for the space you choose and allow enough time to walk to the pontoon.

Your cruise begins at its confirmed time, so treat parking time as separate from the 10-minute arrival margin. For public events or busy dates, check local access and transport arrangements before leaving.

What should you pack?

  • Weather-appropriate clothing, plus a light layer if your cruise continues into the evening.

  • Sun protection for time on deck.

  • Non-marking or white-soled shoes, or plan to go barefoot.

  • Your phone, camera and a prepared playlist if you want music.

  • Any personal items you will need during the booked time.

  • Swimwear and a towel if you hope to swim and have discussed a possible stop with us.

Keep belongings manageable and check with us before bringing bulky equipment. Swimming depends on conditions and the skipper’s assessment; do not build the day around a guaranteed swim stop.

What food and drinks can we bring?

BYO food and drinks are welcome, with no red wine onboard. Bring water and non-alcoholic options as well as anything else your group plans to enjoy.

We supply a large esky, ice, cups, plates, plastic champagne flutes and tumblers. Choose food that is easy to serve and share. If you are ordering optional catering, confirm collection or delivery arrangements and dietary requirements in advance.

What is available onboard?

Inspiration is a 51ft motor yacht with indoor and outdoor entertaining areas, bathroom facilities, a sound system and Wi-Fi. Your charter includes a skipper and crew, with private use for up to 25 guests.

Parents or guardians must supervise children throughout the cruise. Tell us about mobility or boarding needs before booking, and follow the crew’s briefing and instructions on the day.

Keep the itinerary realistic

Tell the crew your priorities, whether that is sightseeing, photos or time together. The route and stops depend on the booking length, weather, tides and the skipper’s assessment. Leave any post-cruise plans enough time for disembarkation and the walk to your next meeting point.
