Top 5 Reasons to Book a Private Yacht Charter or Party Cruise on the Gold Coast
A private yacht charter on the Gold Coast can be a birthday venue, a family outing or a relaxed way to show visitors the waterways. The most useful starting point is deciding what your group wants from the day.
Here are five cruise ideas aboard Inspiration, a 51ft motor yacht with skipper and crew and space for up to 25 guests.
1. Bring everyone together for a celebration
A private party cruise gives birthdays, hens and bucks groups a place to spend time together. You can bring your own food, drinks and playlist and discuss the style of cruise with us.
Choose a duration that leaves room for your main activity, whether that is sharing food, taking photos or simply catching up. Confirm entertainment and setup requirements before booking external suppliers.
2. Show visitors the Gold Coast from the water
For friends or relatives visiting the area, consider a sightseeing and river cruise. Surfers Paradise, the Nerang River and the Broadwater offer different views from those you see on foot.
Tell us what your guests hope to see. Island destinations and stops need enough travel time, and the route is shaped by your charter length and conditions. Our route and duration guide can help you plan.
3. Plan a relaxed family day
A family cruise can bring different generations together without requiring a large celebration. Indoor and outdoor areas let guests spend the time chatting, taking photographs and enjoying the scenery.
Include children in the guest count, arrange parent or guardian supervision throughout the cruise, and discuss mobility or boarding requirements in advance. If you hope to swim, ask whether a suitable stop can fit your booking and the conditions.
4. Make time for a sunset occasion
An anniversary, proposal or evening catch-up may suit a sunset charter. Share any special plans with us before booking so that timing and practical details can be discussed.
Sunset times vary through the year and weather affects the view. Choose an available departure with those factors in mind, and keep any decoration plan small and removable. No confetti or permanent adhesives are permitted.
5. Celebrate New Year’s Eve with your group
If you are planning 31 December, check the current New Year’s Eve sessions for prices, timings and availability. These arrangements can differ from standard hourly charters.
Discuss the expected route and viewing plans before booking. Fireworks schedules, operating restrictions, weather and the skipper’s assessment affect the evening; a specific view or display is not guaranteed.
Set the budget and practical details
Standard charters start at $1,380 for two hours, at $690 per hour including GST and the fuel levy. The price covers the whole yacht with skipper and crew. Compare current charter durations and prices, then add your food, drinks and any separately arranged extras.
BYO is welcome, with no red wine onboard. A large esky, ice, cups, plates, plastic champagne flutes and tumblers are provided; catering is optional and additional.
All guests should meet at the public pontoon at 73 Cavill Ave, Surfers Paradise 10 minutes before departure. Parking at Circle on Cavill and nearby streets is paid.
