Why You Should Book a Private Yacht Charter on the Gold Coast
A private yacht charter on the Gold Coast gives your group exclusive use of a boat with a skipper and crew. It can work well for a birthday, family get-together or client event when you want to spend time together in your own space.
Before booking, consider the size of your group, the experience you want and the total budget. Here is how to decide whether a private charter suits your plans.
Private charter or shared sightseeing cruise?
On a private charter, the yacht is reserved for your guests. You can discuss the route and focus of the outing, bring your own playlist and organise food around your group. Your confirmed charter time and the skipper’s operating requirements still apply.
A shared sightseeing cruise can suit someone who wants to buy individual tickets and follow a set itinerary. A private charter is worth considering when having your whole group together and planning a particular occasion are the priorities.
How many guests are coming?
Inspiration is a 51ft Sealine T51 motor yacht with capacity for up to 25 guests. Smaller groups can book too: the standard price is for the whole charter, so you do not need to fill the yacht.
Ask everyone to confirm before you finalise the guest list. Include children in the numbers, and tell us about mobility or access needs before booking so we can discuss the boarding arrangements.
What does a private charter cost per person?
Our standard rate is $690 per hour including GST and the fuel levy, with a two-hour minimum. A two-hour charter is $1,380 in total. If you choose to split that cost equally:
10 guests: $138 each.
15 guests: $92 each.
20 guests: $69 each.
25 guests: $55.20 each.
These are planning examples, not individual ticket prices. Food, drinks and separately arranged extras are additional, and the charter total does not reduce if a guest drops out. See current charter prices for other durations and check special-event pricing separately.
What can you do onboard?
Plan a sightseeing cruise, a sunset outing or a celebration with your own music and BYO food and drinks. No red wine is permitted onboard. We provide a large esky, ice, cups, plates, plastic champagne flutes and tumblers.
The yacht has indoor and outdoor areas, bathroom facilities and onboard Wi-Fi. Discuss any swim stop or island destination before choosing your duration: the route depends on time, conditions and the skipper’s assessment.
What should you organise before booking?
Choose a date and preferred duration, with an alternative if possible.
Confirm your guest count and total group budget.
Decide between BYO food and optional catering.
Check any entertainment or decoration plans with us before arranging suppliers.
Read the booking terms, including payment and cancellation conditions.
Where does the charter depart?
Board at the public pontoon at 73 Cavill Ave, Surfers Paradise QLD 4217, arriving 10 minutes before your confirmed start time. Parking at Circle on Cavill and nearby streets is paid. Share the meeting point with every guest rather than relying on the yacht’s name in a map search.
